Northwind paid off email validation in three days

Challenge

Northwind acquires email through paid partners. Roughly 5.2% of those addresses were invalid or risky at the time of upload, but the team only found out via bounces — too late to protect domain reputation.

Solution

Pre-send validation hook in front of /mail/send. Every cold address gets the 7-check verdict before it costs them a send. Addresses flagged spam-trap or catch-all-risky are routed to a quarantine list.

Outcome

Bounce rate dropped from 5.2% to 0.4%. The Spamhaus listing they had been fighting cleared in under a week. Roughly $11k a month in wasted sends recovered.
